Works include Dicken's A Christmas Carol with music by Alec Rowley, Holst's St. Paul's Suite, Edgat's Light of Life, Samuel Coleridge Taylor's African Suite and How Do I Love Thee by Maude Valerie White.

This program features the first of our world premieres by African American local composer Marie Douglas. Her first project as part of the SCFE Emerging Artist Coalition is a work about Trayvon Martin. Other works include Dvorak's Ninth Symphony which was inspired by African American spirituals and works by his protégé, African American composer Harry Burleigh.

Emerging Artist Coalition member and local American composer Elizabeth Schwartz headlines this program with her new work Scream, which contains a white noise effect created by layering stories submitted by local women who were victims of violence against women. The rest of the program features works by female suffragists Elfrida Andree and Ethyl Smythe.
